Appointments

Appointments can be made by telephone or in surgery. Routine apointments are 10 minutes long and can be booked in advance to secure your doctor of choice. Emergency appointments will be with the on-call doctor and not always of your preferred choice. These are 5 minute appointments for one problem only, you may have to wait but you will be seen.

Urgent cases will be dealt with as they arise by the doctor on call.

Training

The practice is involved with the Queens University Belfast in training medical students. These students are either in their fourth of final year of training and have been trained in clinical skills. You may be asked to allow the student to take a medical history or examination. This is not compulsory and you may refuse to do so.

The practice is also a training practice for GP registrars/Foundation doctors - these are medically qualified doctors who have worked in hospital for a number of years prior to their training Some surgery consultations may be videotaped for this purpose but we will always seek permission before doing this.

Cancellations

If you cannot keep your appointment please let us know as soon as possible.

Persistent non-attendees may be removed from the practice for the good of those patients who comply with our appointment protocol.
